PIP (PERSONAL INJURY PROTECTION)
I am not an insurance agent,
and would suggest anyone with
question(s) on the best automobile
insurance coverage for them discuss this with their agent, however; PIP
(personal injury protection) is good to have, and my theory is the more
the better. PIP is for lost wages and medical care. In other words, if you get
hurt so severely that you cannot work for a few days, and you start developing
bills for your care, that's what PIP is for. In Texas, it is included by
default, but you can sign a waiver NOT to have it (not a smart move in my
opinion). Sometimes, people do not know if they have PIP or not. Usually, it
does not cost that much extra to raise yours from say, twenty five hundred
dollars worth, to ten thousand dollars worth, and I believe, if you can afford
it, it is better safe than sorry.
